With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, our country is in a time of great transition around health care.  People looking for trusted sources of information about what they should do if they need health care insurance may turn to their faith communities or faith leaders for answers. Health Insurance Explained: The YouToons Have it Covered

This five-minute cartoon video explains health insurance using fun, easy-to-understand scenarios. It breaks down concepts such as premiums, deductibles and provider networks and explains how individuals pay for coverage and obtain medical care and prescription drugs when enrolled in various types of health insurance, including HMOs and PPOs. It’s a great education piece to show as part of an educational program or conversation around health care.

Campaign for Better Health Care–Faith Caucus

CBHC has a strong faith caucus working on health care justice and access.  Visit their site to join the caucus, sign on for conference calls and email alerts, and for tools such as the Healthcare Sabbath Toolkit and the Make a Joyful Noise Toolkit.
